Research Manager

Full-time, permanent
Salary Range: £33,409 to £37,060 per annum including London Weighting

This post presents an opportunity to contribute to a dynamic organisation which combines learning and teaching in drama, theatre and performance at all levels in Higher Education, leading-edge research across a range of modes, and close liaison with major industry partners.

Central has a rich and varied research culture, the success of which is evidenced by its RAE 2008 score (55% of the submission judged 'world-leading' or 'internationally excellent'), extensive staff publication, vibrant research degrees programme, and funding awards including three AHRC Creative Fellowships, two AHRC Collaborative Doctorates, a European Commission (Marie Curie) Research Fellowship and a range of other grants from bodies including the AHRC, Palatine and the Wellcome Trust.

As Research Manager you will work to sustain Central's success in bidding for research grant funding. You will work closely with academic staff in this endeavour, and on a wider range of supportive and developmental activities. You will engage with partners in the education sector, the theatre/performance industries and wider constituencies in order to develop and support research-related projects. You will take a leading role in preparing Central's submission to the REF, and will oversee a range of reporting and compliance activities in relation to Central's research portfolio.

You will be experienced in managing research-related infrastructures. You will have high-level skills in copywriting, research-funding application and information management. You will have excellent communication skills in print and in person. You will be demonstrably effective in working with colleagues across diverse areas, prioritising your workload and delivering to deadline.
