Clinical Research Nurse Clinical Cardiology and Physiology

Salary: £30,460 - £34,189 plus 20% Inner London Allowance (maximum £6,217) per annum

Applications are invited for the post of Clinical Trials Research Nurse (Band 7) to work within the Electrophysiology & Pacing research group under the supervision of Professor Nicholas Peters.

The principal thrust of the research is in the study of myocardial conduction and arrhythmia mechanisms as determined by novel mapping technologies, and the way in which alterations in cellular coupling are part of the electrophysiological remodelling and arrhythmogenic substrate.

As Research Nurse you will provide specialist nursing advice and will support and facilitate high quality, individualised care to patients/clients and relatives/carers in collaboration with the multi professional team, in line with the local and national targets. The role also involves establishing feasibility, pre-study set-up, recruitment, collecting and documenting accurate data and ensuring quality control measures are in place. You will be responsible for ensuring all studies included in the research programme are conducted to the highest standard, in line with GCP principles.

The role involves having in-depth knowledge of study protocols and their application in practice, alongside a working knowledge and compliance with national and international research regulations. Previous experience working as Band 6 or above, with experience of working in a relevant speciality, is essential. You will have a one year contract in the first instance with Imperial College London and an honorary contract with Imperial College Healthcare Trust.

This post is full-time and fixed-term for 12 months in the first instance, and is based at St Mary's Campus.
